The Helpers Organization’s 1st Annual Zombie Hunt will be held on Saturday, October 27th 2018, 3pm -5pm. The hunt for our trivia zombies begins and ends at the Town Point Park Water Fountain in Downtown Norfolk.

There will be fifteen (15) zombies keepers scattered across Downtown Norfolk, all of which hold tokens.  Answer the question/riddle correctly within 90 seconds, each team member gets a token.  Answer it incorrectly or run out of time, the team must select a team member to be zombified.  The newly turned will act as disruptive for incoming teams.   However, living teammates cannot use their fallen brethren expertise if need be as a shout-out or call a friend.  Each team is limited to one shout-out (a random person off the street) and one call a friend (self-explanatory) for the entire game, so use your resources wisely, teams!   If you really want your zombified team member back from the dead, find one of the three cures.

Game Rules

  • You must try to complete each task along the route.
  • First 3 single players or teams to cross the finish line are considered the 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place winners.
  • Once these 3 single players or teams have crossed the line the game will end.

Rules for Single Players

  •  You will have 120 seconds to complete the task at hand if not you are disqualified
  • Incorrectly Answer 5 questions and you are disqualified.

Rules for Teams of 2 or more 

  • You will have 90 seconds to complete each task along the route.
  • If you exceed 90 seconds to complete the task you lose a team member.
  • Incorrectly complete 4 tasks and your team are disqualified.

Participants are being allowed to use their phones to locate zombie keepers and find answers, but are not allowed to use cars to drive (or light rail it) site to site.  All zombie keepers will be within 1 mile to 2-mile radius of Town Point Park and will all be in Downtown Norfolk.  All of your team members must be present at each zombie keeper location, so NO splitting up to cover more ground. Teams caught doing this will be disqualified.

Funds raised from this fundraiser will go to support our internal programs and projects, specifically our Homeless Prevention Program.

Players should work as an individual or a team with a maximum of a 5 person team.

This is a 2-hour scavenger hunt, each team member must pay $10 registration fee.  Participants and volunteers must be at least 16 years of age, with parental consent (if under the age of 18), to play or help out.

Participants and volunteers are all encouraged to dress up!  If you have any additional questions, feel free to contact the organizer.


In consideration of the permission to participate in the Zombie Hunt, and the below listed members agree to release and hold harmless The Helpers Organization, Inc. and the agents and employees thereof from any and all liability for personal injury, death, property damage or loss, or any other loss resulting from or arising out of my participation in the Zombie Hunt Fundraiser.

Participation in the Zombie Hunt fundraiser includes, but is not limited to the risk of death or serious injuries such as walking to/from various locations in the Downtown Norfolk and surrounding area, or the conduct of other participants, including their negligence or willful misconduct.

I certify that I will abide by all rules and regulations of the Zombie Hunt fundraiser. I further acknowledge that failure to abide by all safety rules and the direction of The Helpers Organization, Inc. staff or volunteers may result in my being disqualified from participating in the event and forfeiting eligibility for event prizes.

I also agree to release The Helpers Organization, Inc. and other sponsors of the event from any and all liabilities, claims, and causes of action, based on or arising from negligence or gross negligence on the part of The Helpers Organization, Inc. and its agents and employees.

I acknowledge that I have read and understand the provisions of this release and understand that

it is binding upon myself and my assigns, heirs, executors, beneficiaries, family members, and derivative claimants. I further acknowledge that I have no medical history or condition that would preclude me from participating in the Zombie Hunt Fundraiser.

Limitations of Liability: Each participant agrees (i) to abide by the terms of these Official Rules and the decisions of The Helpers Organization, Inc. which are final and binding on all matters relating to this Scavenger Hunt, and (ii) to release, discharge, indemnify and hold harmless The Helpers Organization, Inc., the City of  Norfolk and Co-Sponsors from any claims, actions, and/or liability for any injuries, loss or damage of any kind arising from or in connection with participation in and/or for entry into the Zombie Hunt Fundraiser, any related activities, or acceptance or use of any prize won.
