Christmas is a time where families get together and create new memories. Often than not, it’s a time where gifts are exchanged. Unfortunately for many families across Hampton Roads, Christmas represents stress or even serve as a painful reminder to those with limiting or without income. This is especially true for families who live couch to couch, the street, and/or in hotels. If either of the last two statements apply to you, we at The Helpers Organization, would like to give you and your family at least one night where you can enjoy an amazing meal in a safe & warm environment, and give your children a Christmas gift. We are teaming up with the Cheesecake Factory in Virginia Beach to give your family “One Night of Peace”. Meals will be prepared by the cooks from the Cheesecake Factory and gifts will be provided by various volunteers.
This application is for homeless & low-income families who may have a hard time purchasing holiday gifts for their children. In order for your children to receive any gifts, your children must attend the One Night of Peace banquet, accompanied by at least one parent/guardian. The banquet time, date, and location will be announced in November.
